Blood cancer is the UK’s third biggest cancer killer, taking 15,000 lives each year. Bloodwise is here to put an end to that.
Bloodwise is a community of supporters, researchers, nurses, volunteers and campaigners, working together to transform the lives of people affected by blood cancer. By funding ground-breaking research. By campaigning to improve care and access to treatment. And by giving people information and support when they need it most.
Since starting out in 1960, their research has saved thousands of lives. It’s also led to improved treatments that have reduced the devastating long-term effects for survivors. But there’s still so much more to do.
With your help, Bloodwise believe they can cure blood cancer in this lifetime.
Motor neurone disease (MND) is a fatal, rapidly progressing neurological condition which causes messages from nerves (motor neurones) in the brain and spinal cord that control movement to gradually stop reaching the muscles, leading them to weaken, stiffen and waste. The result is that people become locked in a failing body, unable to move, talk and eventually breathe. It kills a third of people within a year and more than half within two years of diagnosis. There is no cure.

The MND Association is the only national charity in England, Wales and Northern Ireland focused on improving care, funding and promoting research, and campaigning so the needs of people with MND are recognised and addressed by wider society. With over 9,000 members the charity provides a comprehensive range of information and support for people with MND, their families and carers.
The Youngs Brothers Testimonial Committee will donate a substantial amount of funds raised during the Testimonial Year to Tom & Ben’s chosen causes which include Bloodwise and MND Association.
